On may 4th I walked through the Auschwitz gates with the allied soldiers into the camp to liberate the prisoners. We could see that the Germans had destroyed most of the warehouses in the camp. The soldiers were shock to see prisoners who look like human skeletons. They stared at us with sad faces wondering why they were still alive. Their was a strange smell like if there were bodies burning. millions of the people were confused about what had happened inside the concentration camps, they just couldn't believe that there were millions of people , like babies were burned up in crematories and killed in different forms. We went into one of the remaining warehouses and we saw men suit, women outfits, and giant mounds of human hair. Many prisoners could hardly stand up. I saw many soldiers trying to give them water and food. They looked as though they had been beaten and mistreated in horrible ways. Their heads were shaved and they wore baggy burlap clothes. The solider just couldn't believe what they were seeing some of them got physically sick. Many of the prisoners looked like they would die soon. It seemed like if we had gotten there too late to save many of them. How could the Nazis have been so cruel to the Jewish people.
